Proving we Logans are no dummies..
Five kids is more than a fistful of fury, and every weekend I have to find more fun activities for my older three boys. They announced that they wanted to go to Madame Tussauds to (a) see the new dummies of Jet Li and their 'Uncle' Donnie Yen and (b) test ...Read more

Tales from the closing days of Beach Spike!...
By popular request, and because its Halloween, here's the tale of the close encounter that Peter Wong and I had with an unquiet spirit. I'm glad Peter was there, because no-one would believe me! (Everyone knows I have too much imagi...Read more
From the beach to The Peak
The last day of shooting saw cast and crew gather at the new Tsui Wah restaurant on The Peak. It was a great location for our final scenes, and especially appropriate as Tsui Wah co-produced the film.
Director Tony Tang got a pick up shot of Jessica C from a scene earlier in the movie, shot at a completely different location. The magic of cinema! You'll never tell...
Dispatches from the sand...
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, Oriental Daily ran a story about our producers and their stars, with Peggy Lee talking about Jessica C and me about Phoenix.
For those non Chinese readers, the story mentions that I praise Phoe's efforts on the film, and mentions that I play her father. It goes on to observe that we have a father/daughter relationship on set. Awwwww....
(I hope my daughter isn't as naughty ...Read more
The sun goes down on Paradise Beach
As we wrap Beach Spike!, I can reflect on a fast and happy shoot. I learn new things on every film, sometimes things I don't want to accept! For one thing, I realised that, as I get older, the casts always stay the same age. Whatever age you are as a producer, your actors tend to be 20 somethings! Ah, well, I guess all that youthful energy is good for me, especially considering I have so many young children myself to contend with.
One smart Cookie
As we wrap Beach Spike!, I'm thinking back to what a pleasure its been to work with some actors who I've known for a while, but only just got to collaborate with. One of these is Theresa Fu Wing, who was one of my earliest hires for the film.
Filming beneath a legendary logo
For the finale of 'Beach Spike', we moved into a stage at the new Shaw Bros studios at Tseung Kwan O. Shaws is a legendary name in Asian action cinema. I've visited their old Clearwater Bay studios many times over the years, and released many...Read more
Ryan's visit to Beach Spike!
At the age of 12, my eldest boy Ryan has already announced his intention to work in the film industry. To this end, school schedule allowing, I bring him to visit the locations of various movies being made by myself and my friends, so he can get a sense of what goes on in front of and behind the camera.
We travelled from Central out to the location of Dao's restaurant in Poi O, on Lantau Island. Ryan was so amazed by the rural scenery: I realised I don...Read more
