Ryan's visit to Beach Spike!

At the age of 12, my eldest boy Ryan has already announced his intention to work in the film industry. To this end, school schedule allowing, I bring him to visit the locations of various movies being made by myself and my friends, so he can get a sense of what goes on in front of and behind the camera.

We travelled from Central out to the location of Dao's restaurant in Poi O, on Lantau Island. Ryan was so amazed by the rural scenery: I realised I don't take the kids out of the city enough. Shame on me...

He was definitely as impressed by the freely grazing water buffalo as he was by our set!

The scene concerned saw Uncle and Aunt Dao, played by Lo Mang and Yeung Pang Pang, fight off some thugs in the hire of our antagonistic rich land developers.

Also on hand was veteran character actor Lo Mang

Logan Jnr has a very enquiring mind, and had dozens of questions for Lam Chi-sin, who plays Lam Suet's son, Ah Soi. (I only just realised that he and I were both in the film 'Naked Ambition'!)

Ryan was also happy to meet kung fu icon Lo Mang, and demanded details of any and all real fights Lo Sifu had been in!

Anyway, if he decides to embark on a career in this crazy business, at least he knows what he's in for!
