I spent last week in Sichuan again. I think I've been three times this year already. This time it was for Habitat for Humanity's Jimmy Carter Work Project. For those of you who don't know(or not old enough to know), Jimmy Carter was President of the United States from 1977-1981. In fact, "Carter" was one of my first words as a child. He has b...Read more
It was a very sad day for me when LMF decided to break up a couple years ago. They were my favorite band in HK not only because they are my dear friends but because they really made awesome, progressive, thought provoking Hong Kong music. I was a big fan before I got a chance to meet t...Read more
Last Saturday was the 2nd annual Halloween party for AliveNotDead. It was a really awesome turnout(jammed to the walls again!) and the costumes were fabulous. When we started this website a couple years ago we were trying to build a community of creative like minded people and although we've done that here with this site, you really feel it when attending one of our functions. Thanks to everyone that showed up and many special thanks to the AnD crew for putting on such a great party. ...Read more
Poker King is a new movie starring Luis Koo and Lau Ching Wan about the exciting game of Texas Hold 'Em poker. Now I've been seeing this ad in the South China Morning Post for the past several days. I'm not sure if it's the theater's fault or South China's typo but either way, it's funny.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YW3TmlslGo&feature=fvwHave you eve noticed that no matter where you travel in the world there are Chinese? This subject has always interested me and I always try to find out about their history. This woman here with the crazy Jamaican accent is a perfect example. Her accent is so rad! She has obviously been in Jamaica for a long long time, most likely born there as the way she laughs as...Read more
Been very very busy working like a dog but I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who sent me birthday wishes. My guestbook almost blew up with over 30 pages of birthday comments! I actually haven't celebrated my birthday since I was 28 because I really don't enjoy being fussed over, it really is just any other day. This year I spent the day at work on Derek Yee's new movie Triple Tap. My parents happened to be in town so Lisa brought them down to set to watch me work. In the 12 years I've been in the business, my pa...Read more
This is a great mash up of rock band MGMT and the "intelligent" rapper Kid Cudi. Hadn't heard the song before I caught this on my favorite show David Letterman the other day. Now I have the album. He's not a great singer but that's exactly what I like about this song, it's raw and full of heart, plus the music is great. If you're tired of all that "auto tune" hip hop that's out there now and looking for something fresh, check ou...Read more
Eddie "Dor Yuk" from 24 Herbs sent this over to me the other day. Damn these guys are strong but I bet my hands are smoother than theirs! I like working out but I hate pull ups. These two have 'em in spades. They either spent too much time in prison or spent too much time on the playground.
If you can't see this stop asking why. I've stated many times You tube is blocked in China! | 前幾天...Read more

Here is a song from my friend Pastor Jaeson Ma's new album . I'm not religious but Jaeson is good guy and is always full of powerful words. He sounds kind of like Eminem here.
| 這是我的牧師朋友 Jaeson Ma 最新專輯中的歌曲。我並不信教,但 Jaeson 是個好人,他的語言強而有力。這首歌裏面他聽起來有點像 Eminem。
