The facts:
For the last 2-3 weeks I've been training this little puppy (Indira). 8 weeks old. Her father is a police dog and her grandfather a Belgian World Champion Dog.
Her owner is my future brother-in-law.
I believe that puppies should be set out on the right foot, and so I spent a week or two imprinting various things. Imprinting is a form of training that some trainers do when the dog is at a very early age - which effectively sticks certain good behaviours into a dog. i.e. at 2 months, the puppy lea...Read more
Just dug up some photos of a few weeks ago when we (my fiance and I) went to visit my grandma for the first time in a long time.
Hadn't seen her for 2 years since I was in Shanghai for that long!
She looks healthier and happier than before and growing a garden full of organic Chinese veg!!!
Yesterday, took the little puppy to her first day of school.
Thanks to Ulf Hesse, and his helpers and all the people there at the club - all very friendly and all with super well behaved dogs!
Some pics - enjoy!
The training is quite different to what I do - so for me, there is still a lot to learn!
Went to a dog trainer today - he breeds/trains German Shepherd puppies and Malinois.... he gave us a little demo - and the dogs were big and strong and impressive haha.
Although, I've seen my fair share of big dogs, it's good to see people who enjoy what they are doing and the dogs seem to be having fun too.
Not advertising for him, but you can see his vids on youtube or his website: www.k9ulf.com
He had this one GSD (germand shepherd dog with yellow eyes and blac...Read more
Yay! We got a new puppy to play with!
My future bro-in-law wanted a dog for the family, so you don't get a dog better than this!
Belgian Malinois aka Belgium Shepherd.... only a two month puppy but strong, smart, and super clever. These use these dogs for police protection etc. so hopefully we'll get her trained up to a high level when she gets a bit older and bigger!!
:)
Back Home, home.
To London! (and Cambridge... since my fiance's family lives there...)
33 Days since my last post =/ - been so busy with my new project :) Can't say what it is yet, but i'll prob post it up here first... in a month or so...
Meeting up with old friends, and the inevitable question of ... "do you miss Shanghai?!!?!" comes up like every 5 minutes... the answer... sad to leave, but it's nice to be back in London. Saying that, I'm looking to head back in a year or so (on...Read more

My heart goes out to all of the recent earthquake in Sichuan...
And just a day or two before that happened i decided.
I am going back to England, and I'm bringing my babies with me.
6 months quarantine for them!!! But lucky the kennel is not too far away so i'll get to visit them a lot!
So this was another pet shop I walk into, and I introduce myself as the dog trainer.
They gave me a warmer welcome compared to the other previous visits I've had at other places.
They bring out their dog-aggressive doberman. In 5 mins it's walking by my side; so I ask them to bring another dog out - challenge number 2. A few tricks of the trade and the doberman has full focus on me, sits down by my side and the pet owners/doberman owner watch in amazement.
They sent their dog out for a month to train - and in result...Read more
