JASON TOBIN IS A FAST DIRECTORRecently, shot with Actor/Director, Jason Tobin as part of the I SHOT HONG KONG FILMS ARTIST EVENT. Basically, we were given one RED ONE camera, one day to shoot, and one day to edit. It was the 48 Hour ChallengeMy boy Derrick of BAMBOO STAR fame was the DP.We were also lucky to have NICK and AJ on to help, as well!I was PSYCHED to work with Jason and ready to start the day!JASON TOBIN IS A UNIQUE DIRECTORWhen I arrived on set in Tai Tam...I was greeted by my wardrobe....or lack there of...
Atleast Jason help me put it on...he definitely got glimpses of things that were more than he bargained for! After some masterful direction...
("and this is how I want you to sit on the pier...")We went right into filming. Jason made me fall on the wooden pier about a hundred times.
JASON TOBIN IS A DANGEROUS DIRECTORAfter the morning/afternoon shoot, I was beat up (physically and emotionally).
JASON TOBIN IS A MYSTICAL DIRECTORThat evening, we moved to our next location. We lost a couple of our crew members, so not a lot of pictures were taken. Jason was a beast in this scene. He gave me everything that I could of asked for in a director...and I must say that he brought out the best in me. My favorite line of his after two or three takes,
"OK, Simon. Those were great. We have it. It's not that I didn't like it. But let's try something different."
Jason is an actor and he knows how delicate our egos are. JT, you are amazing.
Below a pic of me and the special leading lady...
But as day turns into night, we definitely find out that....
JASON TOBIN IS A DICK DIRECTOR
One thing you have to know about Jason is that after 5 takes, he gets seriously PISSED.

JASON TOBIN IS A WONDERFUL DIRECTOR Seriously, Jason was fantastic. He knew exactly what I needed before I even knew that I needed it. Thanks, JT. Also, thanks go out to the crew, DFW, Nick Cannon, Nick LaChey, and AJ. Also, HUGE thanks to Josie and Conroy. Mad props to our van driver. Love to Craig, Lindsay, and Laura of Ocean Vista. Thank you PO. I forget anyone else? Probably. SO, thank you, too.
For those of you who want to see the film you can go to the I SHOT HONG KONG website for screening details.
Lastly, few may know it, but Jason Tobin is a great dancer, as witnessed in the video below.
