I've been in Los Angeles for the past 10 days. I flew back here to do a Green Day press junket. Now I didn't have to fly here, the editor got stringers here....but since Green Day was like my favorite band during my teenage years, I wanted to do it.
After I purchased tickets two weeks ago, Warner Music informed me that GD management changed the dates to the 19th--I was set to fly back to HK on the 12th.
"Alright so I'll just buy another set of tickets to fly back to LA on the 17th to do GD then" I said.
That...Read more

I must say, having the Oscars on live in the middle of Monday in Hong Kong is quite cool. Usually I hate missing basketball games and other events because it’s on in the middle of the day but for Oscars, it works. It’s because the Oscars are more results oriented. You don't really need to watch it closely, like say a basketball game. You just need to know the results. And since there are many different sides to root for, it makes for compelling office day time instant messenger and text messaging.
I still remember my first ever day ...Read more
To Frost/Nixon, Frank Langella, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams...
they have NO CHANCE IN HELL of winning an Oscar tonight in the categories they're nominated for, but they deserve recognition. Not just for their great work but for the fact that it's unfair how they have no shot to win an award they should have a great shot at. (Ok maybe Amy Adams doesn't really belong but damn she is gorgeous)
Just like Duncan has no chance of winning the MVP, and hasn't been a legit contender in years......Read more
I just spent over 3000 HKD on two pairs of tickets to see Oasis and Coldplay a few days ago. Now at first I didn't hesitate to buy tickets, because I've always felt rock shows are worth however much they're cost. I mean I could probably get a free ticket from work if I wait it out. But I didn't want to wait for a potential free ticket (then have to fight over it with coworkers). I want to support rock shows. I pay without thinking.
But then after I paid for everything and I had time to think and p...Read more
So today, the Rock came to Hong Kong to promote his new movie. I was psyched to go cover because I was told I'd get to do a group interview with him. I tried to ask for a one-on-one interview because I'm quite possibly the biggest pro wrestling fan in Hong Kong. I mean I been watching the Rock since 96 and have followed his entire WWF career. But of course, we didn...Read more
I found out just a few days ago that this week will mark the final week of Conan O Brien's tenure on Late Night. For those of you unfortunate souls who are not aware of this, Late Night w/ Conan O Brien is a late night talk shot that's been airing in the US for I think...13-15 years or so at 12:35am.
Now there are more famous talk shows, Leno (which comes on before Conan) and Letterman both do shows. And both shows, along with Jimmy Kimmel, could be found on Hong Kong television (Pearl, Star World, CNBC). However, Conan is no...Read more
Just a few notes
-Had a very eventful valentines day. Met Hanjin, who is one of the few, and THE ROCK MEANS FEW, "musicians" in HK I respect because dude actually produce, write, and play his own music. Of course, he still remembers Anita from the interview she did with him over a year ago, and she will remember Sharyn (who was my photographer for the day), but he wont remember who I am within an hour of the interview. Sigh, thats how it works in this world.
I just quoted The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, aka THE M...Read more
