LA

I've been in Los Angeles for the past 10 days. I flew back here to do a Green Day press junket. Now I didn't have to fly here, the editor got stringers here....but since Green Day was like my favorite band during my teenage years, I wanted to do it.

After I purchased tickets two weeks ago, Warner Music informed me that GD management changed the dates to the 19th--I was set to fly back to HK on the 12th.

"Alright so I'll just buy another set of tickets to fly back to LA on the 17th to do GD then" I said.

That's how big a fan of GD I am, man.... I was willing to fly back to HK for three days and then fly back to LA to do the interview.

But then two days ago I recieved news from Warners again that GD management has changed they minds again. Now the entire junket has been moved to NYC and will be on March 31st. Since I got no family out there--and more importantly, I'm running outta cash--I said forget it then. I will be going back to HK and let our stringer do GD.

Really disappointed and really frustrated with GD's management. Two last minute changes?

Anyway, LA... didn't do anything special. I didn't like, eat stuff that I couldn't get in HK, I ate mostly just Chinese food. Went to bed mostly by midnight everynight. I just did everyday stuff. Hang out with friends. Ball. Drive. Poker. And read at Borders.

You see, in the US, there are bookstores like Bordesr where you can go and chill. They welcome you to browse through every book and offer plenty of space to sit and relax. I used to go there and spend all day there reading. In HK, where it's profit profit profit over everything, the bookstores seal most books--and all magazines. You read longer than 5 minutes and you can bet the manager is thinking

"this ain't no library son, pay or go"

So yeah... whenever I go back to LA I hit Borders more than anything else.

I'm a geek what can I say.

Poker with friends...man I've lost it. I went to Vegas for a day and got destroyed at the Wynn poker room.
