I'm back from my trip to Guilin... nowadays every time I go on a trip there i am relieved its over and it felt like it was too long... whereas every time i go to Japan I'm sad its over and it felt too short... I think I'm getting old. :-P
さき中国から帰った!広西の桂林(けいりん)へ行った。お母さんを連れって行った。写真とビデオ一杯撮った!一寸待て、準備の時間要ります!今何枚写真だけアプーする。。。
Anyway I took about 900 photos in my short, rainy weekend in Guilin, China... so it'll take me a while to hone it into a signature Etchy blog... some of you seem to prefer the travel ones, s...Read more
Ok, here's the follow up to yesterday's Macau blog...
Technically you're not supposed to take photos inside of casinos... in the US this is a pretty strict rule, I'm not sure how strict it is in Macau, but i've been known to discretely snap a shot or two for my blog with my phone camera if there's something particularly newsworthy in the past, so I figured I'd bend the rules for this case too....
Because the people of the world have to...Read more
I'm in China right now... I took my mom to Guilin for the weekend. Guilin is one of the most beautiful places in China (if not the world) scenery wise... very interesting rock formations all over the place...
We flew in this evening... Tomorrow we do the boat cruise down the Li River... I took some nice night time shots around the downtown area tonight, but i just realized that I didn't bring my USB connector for my camera. (I recently got an 8 gig SD card for my camera, but it doesn't work in my laptop's 4 year old...Read more
So as I mentioned, my mom is in town, because of all the events going on (Josie's Show, Audiotraffic show, etc), I hadn't had a free weekend day to take her to anywhere except for a day trip to Shenzhen the first weekend she was here.
So I took off a half-day last week to take her to Macau. She had done the tourist stuff on her previous trips out here, so this time she wanted ...Read more
almost ready to unveil the new product offerings from the AnD store... a few more hours and everything will be set...
I've been listening to the Audiotraffic CD a lot... its pretty good, at first you just recognize the songs they play often live, but actually after a few listens, the other songs on their start to stick in your brain too... AT is definitely my favorite rock band on AnD... (...shh, don't tell any of the other bands...)
anyway, i'll post something up tomorrow to make sure everyo...Read more
The second part of my photos from Saturday's awesome Audiotraffic CD Launch Party ( click here for pt 1). 土曜日夜の特別Audiotrafficイベントからの最後写真です。ビデオも有る。見て下さい!
III: The music
At about 9:30, Audiotraffic got ready to start the show on stage... unfortunately I was trapped on the wrong side of about 500 people:
Last night we helped to host Audiotraffic's CD Launch Party, I'm sure you guys saw the banners and spotlights we ran to promote the event. It was a pretty good success! The bands all played great, there was a great turnout of artists and of course a lot of our hardcore supporters. Also I think it was good because it showed people who weren't familiar with us what kind of work we're trying to do!
Sorry for t...Read more
Things are pretty busy today... lots of events in the works! First and foremost we' ve got the big audiotraffic event in like 16 hours.
It should be good, we're hoping for upwards of 500+ people (and no guestlist! if you really want to be there, you gotta buy a CD!) If you can make it, please come down. In addition to AT's CD, they'll also be selling an Audiotraffic T-shirt. We'll also be selling Read more
So as I mentioned a few blogs ago, my mom is in town for the next two weeks. Last Saturday I took her to Shenzhen for the day to do some shopping. For those who don't know, Shenzhenis the city in Mainland China right across the border from HK.
Its actually quite a large city, with something like 9 million + residents (including the ones w/o residence permits) -- HK is only like 7 million, so its actually larger. The nearby area is ...Read more
while doing some work on our youtube vids, i happened across this... its bizarrely ahead of its time:
"Who Invented Motion Capture"
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rre15ckcocY
actually I know that Disney did a manual type of motion capture for their hand animations from Snow White and some of their other old school 1930s animated features... so that predates this... but interesting.
