Audiotraffic Launch Party Photos - Pt 1

Last night we helped to host Audiotraffic's CD Launch Party, I'm sure you guys saw the banners and spotlights we ran to promote the event.  It was a pretty good success! The bands all played great,  there was a great turnout of artists and of course a lot of our hardcore supporters.  Also I think it was good because it showed people who weren't familiar with us what kind of work we're trying to do! 

Sorry for the delay in getting these up!   My laptop was in the office so I couldn't upload anything last night. I have some video to edit and some more photos to prepare, so here's just PART 1.... the set-up of the venue and the 'sign-board' photos I took last night at the event:

I. The Set Up:  The event was held at Cliq, the same place we did our DJ showcase in December.  But this time it had been transformed into a band show arena, complete w/ stage, mixing board, lights the whole nine yards.  I actually forgot to take a full picture of the venue before people started coming in. 

Here's a few snaps of specific areas though:

As is usualy w/ these types of events (premieres, product launches, opening parties, etc) they had a sign board.  basically celebs, VIPs, etc will sign the board w/ a paint marker and do a photo op for the press... perfect for PR, perfect for reporters,  what a genius idea! ;-)

The sign board was in the back near the entrance, after that you go into the main room.  Here I managed to hang one of our 2m x 1m AnD banners (I wanted to put the 4m one up, but Ophelia shot that down, since it would mean we'd have to take down all the March 21st Audiotraffic concert posters.  So we compromised and did the smaller one here....  and the bigger one went onto the bar:

The problem with this is obvious,  as soon as 2 people arrive, you can't see it anymore... but thats OK,  we got the white one up as high as possible at least. :-D

For some reason this was the only picture of the stage I took...  yes, there was a drum set there!

Ophelia's crew had the door manned,  selling tickets and handing out press passes, meanwhile we were on the other side selling our '四大天王' T-shirts.  Our sales were up 400% from our previous at-event sales attempt,  at this rate we'll sell out any day now! ;-)

OK, enough poorly taken venue shots, let's get onto the purely taken shots of artists writing their name for photographers!

II. The Sign Board!

First up, the men of the hour:

Adrian and Don are actually quite regular guys, not the kind of guys who seek out the spotlight like this, so you could tell they weren't really crazy about standing there and posing for photos like this,  but once their friends and guests started coming, they got much more into the spirit of capturing the event on camera.

Special Guest performer:

I made sure to get him w/ an extra sticker when the press stopped Paul to do extra interviews off to the side. 

I actually spent most of the time handing out stickers, and in certain cases running up to the sign board and slapping one on an unwitting celebrity before the press could finish taking their pics. (i'm such a marketing pimp)

Former Boyband member, turned watch spokesmodel Daniel Wu came too:

All kidding aside, its great that he took the time from his busy schedule (flying to shanghai twice in a week and getting ready to head back to San Francisco in a few days) to come down and support AT and our event.

Very quickly the place started to get PACKED!   we actually stopped worrying about promoting this event the last few days because we already knew the turnout would be enough to fill the place...   (security guard guy doesn't look happy... but he's paid to look unhappy).

Josie in the house.  I thought she sounded really good tonight,  even though the sound system here wasn't nearly as expensive as the sound at her big concert last week at Star Hall,  the acoustics are better here and the sound system was tuned much better... (more on that in the next blog).

By about 9:15, it was time to start, but it was hard to get anywhere near the stage, the place was too full..

Eason Chan...  after his great endorsement of Audiotraffic to the press last week ( click for explanation),  I was happy to see him come out to support!

Actually he wasn't the latest,  my friend ネイルアートちゃんand her friend Yoshimi-san got lost and after the start:

Ok, thats enough for part 1,  I gotta run some errands and pick up my mom from the Airport express,  i sent her to Taiwan for the weekend cause I knew I'd be super busy! ;-)
