it seems like i will never have any peace... since February there has pretty much been an unending stream of friends (and relatives) coming through town.
Last week it was my friend サ-ちゃん from Japan and her friend マ-ちゃん. Neither had been to HK before and they wanted to do a few days of shopping and sightseeing. March 17th turned out to be a pretty cool day... rather unexpectedly cool.
I had just come back from a tiring trip to Guilin w/ my mother the night before, but we were able to get some last minute tickets to the Asian Film Awards courtesy of jetli.com. In fact because Narom couldn't make it, I was lucky enough to get a coveted ' all access' pass to the show in order to take pictures for Jet and for AnD. Score!

桂林) Trip! (now three weekends ago! so far behind!)
Our main destination for the final (rainy) day in Guilin was the 'Reed Flute Cave' (芦笛岩 - named after the reeds that grows nearby. It was about 20 minutes by taxi from downtown... there wasn't much outside except some tourist trap shops and bus parking lots... but inside was quite impressive!

A few more pics from last last sunday in Guilin: まだ 桂林の写真が有る。日曜日朝、大母さんと一緒町の中央で散歩した。天気があまり。。。
they were right when they told us to take the Li River cruise on Saturday instead of Sunday, the weather was much worse on Sunday... but I can imagine on a nice clear spring or fall day, this part of town is quite nice...
