Experiments

I’m currently trying to figure out how to best blur the lines between photography and painting. So I sit in front of my computer, and try to let my instincts tell me how or what I want to convey. Sometimes, it makes me feel pretentious. Other times, I feel liberated because I feel empowered to come up with a new language set to communicate my ideas. It’s still a work in progress though.

Last month, when I was traveling and hiking up in the mountains in the UK with my sister, we saw this group of wild horses. First, I thought they were a g...Read more

Bleeding Big Steps

Two of my most prized possessions from my childhood are these two old pairs of ballet point shoes:

(In case you’re wondering…it is a photograph I have taken. Currently experimenting with different post effects.)

My parents probably didn’t even know what ballet really was back then. One day, I just kinda went home ...Read more

Your Vote Counts!

I hope y’all voted yesterday. Now it’s over. Republicans rule the house, Jerry Brown is our next governor and pot is not legalized this year.

Today, I tried to decide what to exactly to blog: More of my doll pictures? Street photography? Well, my friends voted for boudoir pictures. So here are some photographs, taken a few months ago. Enjoy!

There Ain’t No Doubt, I Love This Land

I was never a really athletic kid. I never did well in team sports. I excelled more in dance or swimming, disciplines that put emphasis on movement and grace. I would see my classmates go to soccer practice, and always happily stayed back. But I did envy them for one thing: The soccer uniforms. And no matter what team, they always had a little patch sewn right across their chests: The black, red, and golden German flag. I would stare at it and admire the unspoken authority with which these kids would step onto the field...Read more

Last week, I was walking my dog when a homeless guy stopped me. Often times, I ignore incidents like these and just keep walking, but this time I opted for a polite conversation. The streets were filled with people, and I was feeling pretty safe with the leash of my dog in one hand, and the maze in the other.  I warned him that I did not have a single penny on me, but he didn’t care. The man, maybe 40 years old, began to sing an old R&B song that sadly I did not recognize. He didn’t sound too bad! Even rapped a little bit. I noticed at least two...Read more

Prince of Persia

Hmmmm…

Double hmmmmmm…

I did it again. :)

Filled in again for my friend’s entertainment section of her TV show. This time at least, I got to be surrounded by a few A-listers, and although it was freezing cold and rained a little bit, I thoroughly enjoyed breathing the same air as Sir Ben Kingsley and intelligent and hot Jake Gyllenhaal at the premiere of “Prince of Persia”. This film will open May 28 th, and I think it’ll be quite entertaining.

The American Film Institute, which is the school I just graduated...Read more

Do Dolls Have Souls?

Scary thought actually. But I still love them.

My newest obsessions are Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD’s). Produced mostly in Korea, China or Japan, they are cast out of resin and are awesome to pose. These babies can stand on their own!

The fun thing about BJD’s is the fact that no doll is like the other. Face and body molds can only be used about 20 times to cast the doll parts before they have to be redone. One batch of production will never be the same as another. You’re able to make hybrid dolls with faces and body pa...Read more
