Last week, I was walking my dog when a homeless guy stopped me. Often times, I ignore incidents like these and just keep walking, but this time I opted for a polite conversation. The streets were filled with people, and I was feeling pretty safe with the leash of my dog in one hand, and the maze in the other. I warned him that I did not have a single penny on me, but he didn’t care. The man, maybe 40 years old, began to sing an old R&B song that sadly I did not recognize. He didn’t sound too bad! Even rapped a little bit. I noticed at least two business guys who watched the spectacle as they walked past us, and kept turning around, out of concern to make sure I was okay. The man completed his song and told me that if I ever walk around with a recording machine, he’ll record the song for me. “I’ve always wanted to go into music,” he exclaimed enthusiastically before he said his goodbyes and continued his way.
He clearly needed money. Or a nice meal. But sometimes, you just need a listener to your daily problems, or an audience for your art. So I thank you guys for checking out my blog.
Here is lovely Miss D. The wooden set that she posed on is actually part of someone else’s art project. I thought it might make a nice set. We call it “the monster”. Today, parts of that monster have been made into a cool table J
