From May 31 st to June 3 rd the Renaissance Yu Garden Hotel in downtown Shanghai was host to a very special event, the Citizen Art Shanghai fair. On 3 floors and in over 60 rooms, exhibitors from all over Asia – Taipei, Beijing, Fukushima, to mention some – decorated the fancy ****hotel rooms into exclusive exhibition spaces.
We just had another exhibition named Urban Operandi in Hong Kong. The opening event was filled with fashionistas and art enthusiasts. The atmosphere reminded me of the previous greatly successful Art Walk 2013 in which people who are fond of art and lifestyle mingle together and have a blast.

On an early evening in Hong Kong, island6 was quiet, a little too quiet….
Then BAM! Thousands of art walkers took to Hong Kong’s streets and despite the April showers and the elements being in full force, we still had a great turnout at the annual HK Artwalk 2013.
The weather situation in Shanghai has been troubling the island6 creatives much like little birds not knowing if to come back from their southern escape destination or extend their stay far away from our beloved city. Allowedly, the birds have above all some other concerns at the moment. But we at the island decided for a very special cure for these unsteady climate days: an artwork a day keeps the doctor away!
On March 28 th, island6 Hong Kong opened its 3 rd in house exhibition, featuring acrobatic artworks, smoking beauties, some hot and heavy Hong Kong rain and one delicious roasted pig’s head.
