Dennis Ruel and Ken Quitugua face off in episode one of “Rival Grocers,” a series written and directed by Ken himself. Chuck (Ken) and Jim (Dennis) are grocers from separate supermarkets. They face off when they meet down in a parking garage during a grocery delivery.[ Streaming Version]
The first review for Micah Moore’s “Dogs of Chinatown” has come in, this one being from our friend Mark Pollard at Kung Fu Cinema. Mark praises the visual asthetics and fight scenes in “Dogs.” All in all, not bad! Read the review here.

The Stunt People will not be making an appearance at this year’s SCMA convention. We hope attendees will have a blast at this new convention, and we’re going to try to make it next year.
In February of 2008, Ray Carbonel, Shaun Finney, and Eric Jacobus of The Stunt People were featured as “Los Lobos Boys” in Say No More’s “Take the Long Drive Home.” We played the luchadores who battle against the band Say No More in their newest music video. Dennis Ruel has just finished his short “Patient Zero,” an action film about a group of college students caught up in a crazy experiment. Two guys and a girl wake up to find they’re trapped in a building and being persued by angry college kids and a zombie.
Shot in August of 2007, “Detour” is a sort of offshoot of “Contour” where Law (Eric Jacobus) goes to rent an apartment and strikes a deal with the landlord (Shaun Finney) where he’ll get a discount on his deposit if he takes care of a squatter (Chelsea Steffensen) outside. This is also one of our first collaborations with Pete Lee, who did the camerawork.
As I wrote a couple months ago, Manny and Shawn from Lazy Brown Productions came and visited the San Francisco Bay Area to work on their film “Those Who Go to Hell.” The Stunt People took part in the shooting, and in our free time we went and shot “Flower Thieves,” a short about Manny and Shawn breaking into Eric’s house and ruining his life. It’s just a short comedy with a quick fight scene at the end. Enjoy.[ Direct Download]
There’s something refreshing about seeing two guys flail their arms at each other like those inflatable tube men you see at car dealerships. Cosmo Rettig and Phu Do fight over a girl, Stacie Rashel, in “Bro Gets Knocked Out.” Here’s to the hopes that we’ll receive plenty of moronic Youtube comments.
