Hey guys, i should be heading to sleep, just got back from a birthday party... lots of photos to upload, but gotta do my backlogged ones first!
I wanted to blog about meeting up with Van Ness Wu last last weekend. As some of you may know he was passing through HK on his way to do some events in China. While he was here not only did we get to meet up, but he also did a really nice thing, he agreed to help out with our JC 'Awakening' Fundraiser effort, by generously autographing some of the JC books to help raise more money for JC's family ( click here for the full deal on the JC Book!)
With some help from the super-amazing Rosanne Wong, we were able to get some books to Van Ness before he left for China to get his autograph on (btw - this will all be in the front page spotlight on wednesday...)
I'm sure he's got a ton of people trying to get him to lend his star power to various charity causes, so I appreciate that he's willing to help our goodwill effort to help out some unlucky people in need (btw, let me reiterate that AnD makes $0.00 off this whole fundraiser sale thing, and we're donating our (my) time and labor for FREE to help out!)
Anyway, for more info, check out the JC fundraiser page....
So let me get to last sunday's events - After the AnD crew had a rare sunday night work meeting, Pat and I headed to Happy Valley to meet some friends for dinner, it was a nice japanese restaurant:
look at the size of that slice of fish?!
i liked it because it wasn't just sushi (etchy doesn't eat seafood!), they had yakitori and a lot of other stuff... not exactly what I was used to eating while living in Kyushu, but not bad.
And of course good pals:
Pat Lee was busting out his digital SLR... I should get one.
And we were joined by Van Ness too. He got roped in to take a photo with the staff after dinner:
(yes, apparently the owner is a Hanshin Tigers fanatic... I on the other hand, am a Softbank Hawks fan).
After that we ended up at a friends house, I'm not sure how it came up, but a sharpie was produced and Pat Lee was asked to do another live demonstration:
L: minute 1, C: minute 5, R: minute 22. (i'm not exaggerating only 21 minutes passed between the first and last pic!)
oh, and I couldn't resist sharing this one interesting thing I snapped a photo of:
You know you're really famous when they start putting your picture on Soju!
Anyway, especially because of his help with the JC fundraiser, I wanted to point out that Van Ness, like pretty much every artist on AnD that I've had a chance to meet, is a nice guy.
I may not be a super hardcore F4 fan... But he's a nice guy, very down to earth, and we definitely appreciate his help!
