I will share some photos with U'all which I personally love it.
I'll try to load one weekly accompanying by a song which suits how I feel about the photo when I took it.
Hope U'all will love my work too

    I can't really explain it,
    I haven't got the words
    It's a feeling that you can't control
I suppose it's like forgetting, losing who you are
And at the same time something makes you whole
It's like that there's a music playing in your ear
And I'm listening, and I'm listening and then I disappear

And then I feel a change
    Like a fire deep inside
Something bursting me wide open impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
    Like electricity, electricity
    Sparks inside of me
    And I'm free I'm free

It's a bit like being angry,
it's a bit like being scared
Confused and all mixed up and mad as hell
It's like when you've been crying
And you're empty and you're full
I don't know what it is, it's hard to tell
It's like that there's a music playing in your ear
But the music is impossible, impossible to hear
But then I feel it move me
    Like a burning deep inside
Something bursting me wide open impossible to hide
And suddenly I'm flying, flying like a bird
    Like electricity, electricity
    Sparks inside of me
    And I'm free I'm free
    Electricity, sparks inside of me
    And I'm free, I'm free
    I'm free. Free I'm free

  • In 1930s

1930s is an era which beauty can only be defined and captured naturally without any forms of post editing nor enhancements, like we have today. I only get to learn to appreciate deeply these  legendary actors and actresses, when I become one myself. Hope that with hardwork,  I'll come close to be as good as them.

    Charlie Chaplin - The Tramp

Charles "Charlie" Chaplin was one of the first  super stars of cinema, and he made the transition from the silent era to the talkies. Charlie Chaplin's silent classics include: THE KID, ONE A.M., and THE GOLD RUSH.

When he started doing "talkies", Charlie Chaplin's defining role was in CITY LIGHTS. Other notable Charlie Chaplin films include: MODERN TIMES, THE GREAT DICTATOR,  and MONSIEUR VERDOUX.

Many like to think Charlie Chaplin paved the way for other such prodigies like Jerry Lewis,Woody Allen and Robin Williams. But as "People" one quoted, "Unlike them,  unlike anyone else, he got the whole world to agree."

Clark Gable - Super Star & Best Actor Clark Gable

Clark Gable, labeled the "King" of Hollywood,  created an image and legend thatendured for decades after  his death.   Gable won the Best Actor Award for his performance in  IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT. His defining role was as Rhett Butler in the classic  GONE WITH THE WIND.    Other notable films include:  THE MISFITS, which was both Gable's and Marilyn Monroe's last film. Clark Gable's handsomeness and virility, combined with a unique speaking voice and twinkle in the eye, helped build a burning screen presence the brightness of which has dimmed little over the years.

Marilyn Monroe - The most famous in the 20th century

Marilyn Monroe personified Hollywood  glamour  with an unparalleled glow and energy that enamored the world. Although she was an alluring beauty with voluptuous curves and a generous pout, Marilyn was more than a '50s sex goddess. Her apparent  vulnerability and innocence, in combination with an innate sensuality, has endeared her to the global consciousness. She dominated the age of movie stars to become, without question, the most famous  woman of the 20th Century.

Lily Yuen Ling Yue -  True goddesses of the Chinese Cinematography

The smile of Ruan Lingyu in 1934, a year before her suicide.

A Cantonese 广东中山 born in Shanghai on April 16, 1910, Ruan
made her motion picture debut at age 16 in 1926 and quickly became
a celebrity. But it wasn’t until she signed with the newly founded
UPS (United Photoplay Service “Lianhua”联华) in 1930 that she
reached the pinnacle of Shanghai stardom. Over the next five years
she appeared in a series of socially relevant dramas that were
critical and box office successes and are now acknowledged as
classics, movies like Three Modern Girls三个摩登女性 (1932), Toys
小玩意 (1933), and The Goddess 神女 (1934).

Though the films from the first half of her career have not been
preserved, many of her UPS pictures still exist, and there are
occasional surprises. A complete print of the presumably lost Love
(1930) was discovered in the 1990s in, of all
places, Uruguay among the possessions of a late KMT general who had
emigrated to Latin America. It is the earliest Ruan feature known
to survive, and shows that at 20 she already possessed a mature
talent. An unhappy love life, the sting of the gossip-mongering
press, and the stress facing an actress less-than-fluent in Mandarin
and not confident in making the transition to talking pictures took
their toll. In 1935 Ruan, took her own life and this sent shock waves through the movie community and led to much soul searching in artistic and literary
circles. More than ten thousand fans attended her funeral and there
were many declarations that the name “Ruan Lingyu” would never
    be forgotten.

Forgotten she was, though, for her films were not shown for many
decades. The situation changed with the post-Cultural Revolution
revival of interest in old Chinese cinema in the 1980s, and Ruan
became a pop icon in 1991 thanks to a shallow but award-winning
    film biography, Center Stage, starring
    Maggie Cheung

. The movie might not have done Ruan Lingyu justice, but it is to be credited
with making new generations aware of the triumphs and tragedy of
one of the true goddesses of the Chinese screen.

Recently, a dear friend of mine,  Dennis Chan  (we met when I imgrated to HK seven years ago)

has a new found hobby - Photography. Knowing that I'm so much in love with the 1930s era, Dennis brings me back to the past.

What a talent ~!! Thank you dear for fulfilling my dream ...............

Will share more photos with U'all later.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACE ~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sunday, Sep 7, 2008 4:05PM / Members only

    Race

My sister, Race and I are very adventurous toward living life in a different dimension, with sooo much pleasure! We have the guts to try out new life style, new taste, new fashion, venturing around foreign places, hiking, took up my Dad's challenges like selling Christmas hats and soda along Singapore busiest street,  living a brand new life, learning the language and absorbing its culture. Here I present, two naive sisters from having two luggage, to having a home here in Hong Kong.
This is how I define 2R

Looking back at some work photos, I think our courage had definitely over took us for that moment. Please don't laugh ~
