Last week I flew back to San Diego to for a week to renew my driver's license and to catch up with some good friends. I had such a blast and was so tempted to stay longer but I had to be back in the studio the next day. Good thing because my In-n-Out everyday diet was gonna kill me after another week....haha! Back in the old stomping grounds..SD representSunset Cliffs is always one of my favorite spots in the world to just sit back, reflect and relax. Thankful for another year of blessings and safe travels.Made a new friend while going to dinner in Pacific Beach. Not too often do you see a pig checking out the surf. You know I gotta have my In-N-Out..Valerie and Chris supporting my hamburger addictionI should film my own version of "supersize me."While in town I looked at some Sphynx kittens to see if I can bring back a little brother for Kingsley but no luck. Maybe next time.A highlight of my trip was going to my favorite club the Casbah and watching The Lemonheads and Fluf rock out. I've seen so many cool bands play here so it's great to be able to see a good show while in town.Fluf opened and killed it. It's been a while since I saw them play and its always fun watching O and Brad. Last time saw them was when Reeve Oliver played the Casbah three years ago. If O looks familiar its because he's been in some of the coolest projects over the years and he was a awesome photographer at Transworld Skateboarding for a long time. This was my third time watching Evan Dando and company play so it's cool hearing the old stuff mixed in with some of the new Lemonheads tunes. Unfortunately he was a little too medicated to play better than I've seen him in the past. Oh well.....The man still plays some pretty cool SGs though.I also made it to Lestat's to watch the Predicates CD release party and got introduced to Itai by Chris. Being back in Lestat's reminded me of all the fun times we had playing there years ago. Watch out for the Wet Blankets...they'll play there soonBarbeque at Valerie's house! Got to catch up with some great friends and reminisce about the PLNU days. Good times.Smores!! We should make them popular in Hong Kong. Anyone game? Before I knew it my week was up and it was time to make my way back home. On the way to LAX I stopped by Meltdown Comics and while I was looking through a box of back issues I looked up and saw.....ROBIN WILLIAMS! I kinda froze because you don't expect to run into someone like that. Luckily Mr.Williams was super nice and I asked him about his heart (he recently had surgery), his stand-up tour, and asked if I can get a pic. What a way to end such a fun trip!
