I've never sold a painting before. I've only given them away as gifts and silent auction items for events and fundraisers.
I have a real hard time letting go of my art.
But it's time.
Time to move on. Time to let go so it can be special to someone else.
For the first time, I feel fulfilled and empty at the same time.
Yup, I'm sure this is how it'll feel when my kids leave for college. Sigh...

This was from a series I painted after finding out that a friend had decided to take his life.
I wanted to show life/hope coming out of darkness.
Dragonflies are symbolic of the life we live through that we can never teach someone else who hasn't gone through it themselves.
This piece was a part of San Diego Asian Film Festival's first annual art show in October 2008.
