And, in the end, the love you make...
We actually wrapped Blood Bond a couple of weeks back, and its taken me until now to write this final 'location' blog. I was in denial! I didn't want the adventure to be over.
I was looking back over the 49 insta...Read more
Rumble in the teahouse (part two)
Our lethal leading lady Phoenix Chou has impressed everyone throughout the shoot. She's stunningly beautiful from every angle, she's delivered the dramatic beats that her part demands perfectly, she's overcome every physical challenge we've thrown at...Read more
Rumble at the teahouse (part one)
John Huston said we shouldn't remake the great movies, just remake the bad ones 'til we get them right. We applied this dictum to the making of 'The Blood Bond', where we decided, towards the end of production to reshoot the first days of produ...Read more
Blood on the bar floor and a clean getaway
We started the day in countryside, with more shots of Deva and Tremayne traversing the trackless wastes of Purma (actually rural Nanhai).
Just when I thought we'd achieved an injury free action film... We filmed a pick up shot of the Jesse...Read more
Odds and sods
It became apparent last week that, despite our best efforts, we're going to run a few days over with 'Blood Bond'. As the increasingly exhausted crew rolls in on Monday morning, we look at a day filled with various shots we need to re-shoot, some of them moments that only o...Read more
Interlude

Girlfight concluded, and good-bye to Emma
Having recovered from the hallway to hell, we focussed today on shooting out our beloved Emma Pei. Emma has modelling jobs lined up in Beijing and Africa, and so we need to get our remaining scenes with her in the can today.
Trouper that she is, I th...Read more
Into the corridor of death... (AKA The Longest Night)
The night started easily enough, with the scene where Lompoc (Simon Yam), Guang Di (Emma Pei) and their fellow rebels storm the rear of our hospital set. (We couldn't find a suitable, accessible building, and so constructed the hospital o...Read more
Big Brawl#2 : Biehn VS Yam, Phoe VS Emma
It feels like a bash-'em-up videogame today: the epic Lompoc VS Tremayne fistfight comes to an end, while Deva and Guang Di prepare to start their duel. This is tough stuff to shoot anyway, and especially so as we're filming at night.
