Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbKGsEK_T9g I've just seen a face,
I can't forget the time or place
That we'd just met, she's just the girl for me
And I want all the world to see we've met
Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm mmm mmm
Had it been another day
I might have looked the other way
But I had never been aware
And as it is I dream of her tonig...Read more

Hype.
It's a bitch.
It's what ruined many a things--the PS3, Slumdog Millionaire, Green Day's latest album, the Sopranos series finale, etc.
None of the above can be considered bad by any stretch, but because of the insurmountable hype, they disappointed and left us wanting more.
Obama can join that group. Aside from being handed a Nobel prize for no real reason a few weeks ago, the man's approval have dropped and the novelty has worn off (yes, novelty. Obama himself is more than qualified to be President ...Read more
I finally got my hands on Bill Simmons' book yesterday. I read Malcom Gladwell's intro (with a hilarious line I'll go over later), which talked about why Bill is who he is, followed by the prologue and the first chapter. About 60-70 pages total read.
In yet another another "Danny Glover, you right" moment, I got really sleepy and tired around midnight and had to go stop reading and go to bed. In my younger days, like, 18 months ago, I would have stayed up and read at least 300 pages before I called it a...Read more
I remember coming out of the Matrix Reloaded, one of the most hyped movies of this decade, with one of those "I can't for sure say I like/hate it yet because there are so many things I want to question" feeling. It's the same feeling I had for No Country For Old Men and Scarlett Johansson singing (I don't like the songs (the ones with Tom Waits, not Pete Yorn. Pete Yorn is fucking awesome) but her voice is harrowing and come on, when she look the way she looks it's hard to hate.)

First Sunday without any real freelance work to do.
So I'm gonna read these three books, while listening to Abbey Road.
What a good fucking way to spend a Sunday, eh?
Abbey Road--everything about this album is perfect. I love the bassline that starts the album.
I love how after the heavy I Want You (She's So Heavy), we get the light and fluffy Here Comes The S...Read more
...words of Bruce Wayne
Anyway, speaking of Bruce Wayne, a bat somehow flew inside the gym of a Spurs game tonight, and while some players were scared, Ginobili just slaps it in midair, either knocking out or killing it, then picked it up casually and handed it to the custodian.
So this is a random movie entry, was suppose to post this onto Vals blog but I missed the deadline. Oh wells.
Inception trailer.

This is looking good. Aside from Leo, who's proven to be a very capable actor the past several years (think it started with Catch Me If You Can, one of my "casual favorite" movies. Casual favorites = I will watch it everytime it's on TV and I will always goodm...Read more
So for all of last season, the NBA TV postgame show featuring longtime TV analyst Ahmad Rashard and former players Gary Payton and Chris Webber had been just about everyone's favorite highlight show. They took the loose and loud approach of Barkley/Ernie/Kenny's Inside the NBA and turned up the ghetto another notch.
Don't think I'm making racial stereotype with the last line, as even GP will tell you that's exactly what they're doing. Sports show for most of the past several decades had...Read more
This is Wall Street Journal's review of Bill Simmons' book, The Book of Basketball, which will hit stores in the US in about 6 hours. Simmons had a midnight book signing tonight in DC and they ran out of books because too many fans showed up. I'm reading via twitter over 500 fans showed up on a Tuesday midnight to meet a dude who started out blogging about sports.
