polythene pam

got into work today and first thing i hear is another psycho shooting up innocent people in the US.

this type of shit happens far too often in the US.

lets focus on some good news because i am so tired of hearing moans and groans coming at me from all angle.

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/nov/04/inmates-credited-rescuing-hillsborough-deputy-duri/

this is a good story but at the same time the angle the journalist took--although perfectly understandable--is disturbing.

notice how the writer introduced the "good guys" (the ones who saved the guard) by going over their previous crimes. basically the angle the writer is trying to make is "even though he's a criminal and has done this and that, he somehow amazingly did a good thing here!")

another awesome part is the crazy looking vietcong guy is one of the good guys. i mean if you had asked me to pick who the "crazy villain" is in this story off mugshots alone i woulda picked the crazy vietcong guy with the 14 year old puberty mustache.

UPDATE 2:34am

a few hours after I typed this entry (referring to the army shooting), I learned there's another random shooting in the states in Orlando.

What the fuck.... is this world coming to? seriously.

What is the US coming to? 10+% unemployment, an interminable war in Iraq/Afghanistan that destroys the minds and bodies of soldiers and civilians alike, vitriolic wrangling over health care reform, etc. Some men are simply loosing it here in the US. The story is also out of the serial killer who stashed at least 11 bodies in his house, "friends" dousing their buddy with alcohol and then setting him alight with lighters--and laughing while he got burns over 65% of his body. That poor kid is in a drug-induced coma because his injuries are so horrific ,and he will probably die, anyway. Enough? Because there is plenty more.
