Guilin #4

A few more pics from last last sunday in Guilin: まだ 桂林の写真が有る。日曜日朝、大母さんと一緒町の中央で散歩した。天気があまり。。。

they were right when they told us to take the Li River cruise on Saturday instead of Sunday,  the weather was much worse on Sunday...  but I can imagine on a nice clear spring or fall day, this part of town is quite nice...

Our objective was the nearby Elephant Trunk Hill:　エレファント鼻山へ行った：

its a natural (hopefully natural) cave in a rock along the Li River in downtown Guilin.  Its supposed to look like an elephant drinking water...  but nowadays the water level is too low so it doesn't quite work... ( this is what its supposed to look like).

I got my mom to take a picture... this one took a few tries before she got the light balance right and managed to get the cave and me in the frame...

Nearby they had a park w/ elephant related sculptures... 

and of course nearby in the river:

a bunch of small boats offering rides and taking pictures w/ cormorants, etc...

absolutely dreary weather!  but no fear, our next destination is immune to such things...もとが有る！待ってください！
