Just got back from the opening of Simon Birch's 'Small Wonder' Exhibition. Whenever I hear 'Small Wonder' I still think about that horrible 80s sitcom about the robot girl. Luckily Simon's show was not at all related to that! It was an exhibition of his recent paintings. Most of his paintings involve beautiful women, this time it was a bit different, outside the 10 Chancery Lane Gallery, he had a giant painting of dudes:In this case naked dudes! Not just any random dudes, it was actually the band Chochukmo. They were the special guest performers for the night:No comment from them about how anatomically correct the proportions are on the painting. They did a really nice acoustic set outside in the street, since the gallery is not big, it was the best place to do it.Quite a good crowd of art supporters. FYI for those who are HK history/geography buffs, the wall behind them is the Old Victoria Prison back wall (you may remember from the end of Jackie Chan's 'Rob-B-Hood'). Here's some pics of the exhibition. I'm no art expert, but that one looks a bit like Ana R. :-PBesides the schlongfest outside, many of the pieces inside were nude, especially these bigger pieces, i managed to find one which was only PG-13. ;-)We were graced with the presence of one of the models, the beautiful Miss Grace Huang. Who tried very hard to recreate her original body position:not quite the right angle. doh. :-DGreat job yet again Simon! Looking forward to more of your work!
