Korean Movie Review - 'Blue' (블루)

Take one part 'Navy SEALS', one part 'Men of Honor',  throw in some 'GI Jane' and a dash of cliched love triangle,  and you get ' Blue'(블루),  a Korean action drama from 2003 starring one of my favorite Korean actors, Shin Hyun-Joon( 신현준, akathe guy from that MV where the guy gives his eyes to save his girlfriend's vision) and Sin Eun-kyeong ( 신은경 from the recently reviewed 'Romantic Comedy').

They play South Korea's best Navy divers,  who graduate together, and predictable get into a bit of a lvoe triangle:

who will Commander Kang fall for?  the serious Lt. Lee or the whacky Lt. Kim?

amid all the interpersonal drama,  the diving team is assigned to a dangerous rescue mission or two, and of course something's going to go wrong so there's some life and death drama to keep you on the edge of your seat...

or not...   the production is pretty decent, but the cliches are also pretty high....   Shin Eun-kyeung does a good job as the female dive instructor fighting for respect in the macho world of dive rescue.  :-P
