For the fourth PCCA race weekend this season, the weather forecast is looking to a wet forecast with Friday and Saturday reading as much as 35mm of rain.
The rain during the 2010 season has been something of an interesting element from the view of the spectator. Championship leader, Christian Menzel started on pole in a dry Singapore race with wet weather tyres. Francis Tjia also did the same as the former.
During the Shanghai GP a fortnight ago, Jeffrey Lee also had a 200kph spin, that only resulted in some minor damage to the tail end of the car.
Singaporean Wimobilize team driver, Yuey Tan also has felt the pinch. "The mistake on turn 5 that I made in Singapore will always live in the memory," said Tan. "It lost me four places in the championship, and I damaged my car, and couldn't start race 1 on Saturday. This was disappointing for me." The Adelaide GP in Australia during the 2010 season, also resulted in Tan colliding with Rankin after the latter spun while braking into standing water.
Yuey Tan has a mathematical possibility of overcoming his point deficit though he knows, that this cannot be achieved on pure pace. "We are far behind the top 10 now," continued Tan. "WIth two races to go, our chances of getting ahead would lie in another drivers misfortune."
With these misfortunes, rain has also been something of a good oman for some drivers. Jebsen driver, Rodolfo Avila, had a magnificent race in Shanghai, to storm to his first podium of the season. "I hope it rains again in Zhuhai this weekend. The car is good to drive in the wet."
As the famous Formula 1 pundit, Murray Walker once said. 'Anything can happen in motor racing. And it usually does."
