McElrea’s Singaporean driver, Yuey Tan, will be receiving a newly designed helmet for the Singapore GP on the September 24-26 weekend. During Singapore’s 3rd edition of the ever popular weekend, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia will be running an hour, prior to the Formula 1 sessions. The 'special' helmet will be based on Arai’s latest marvel, the GP-6. Using the design of the GP6-RC, this version of Arai’s flagship helmet is made from Super Complex Laminate system for the manufacture of the strong, rigid and lightweight shell. Beautifully designed multiple vents have the option of air flowing into this helmet, if use in a Formula car. The new visor system also improved ease of use for the driver.Wimobilize squad driver, Yuey Tan had this to say. “Seriously happy about this! It’s a great thing for someone to spray you a helmet. The even cooler thing is, that I have no real idea about what the helmet design boys are up to, for this helmet! I do know a few things about it but I am told that I will have to wait and see!!”The one-off helmet design will incorporate a mixture of monochrome, and real colours to give it some contrast and depth. It will also sport some sort of Singaporean ribbon design though the details remain unknown at this time. In addition, there will also be a Maori type pattern used in the design.Stay tuned for more on www.yueytan.com.sg.
