Driver – Yuey Tan: Finding our maximum through each session

Wimobilize driver, Yuey Tan has been involved in a mid-season test programme, setup and organised by team boss, Andy McElrea. The team have been testing on various circuits on the Gold Coast, including Queensland Raceway and Morgan Park Raceway.

"Focus is definitely something that maybe we just can't take seriously enough, when it comes to driving the car. Points can be lost, championships can slip through your fingers, all sorts of things can happen," admitted Tan. 

Team boss, Andy McElrea has been en-stilling a new philosophy of total focus through the 2010 season, with team mates, Singaporean Yuey Tan and Taiwanese driver, Jeffrey Lee.

"Sometimes Jeffrey and I make mistakes and these mistakes cost us. I went out on the 3rd lap of the session in Singapore after a flying lap that saw us take 11th in qualifying with that one lap. It could have been so much better for us. Instead, confidence was shot, and we had to begin from dead last in the race."

WIth the test programme underway on the Gold Coast, the long sessions in the car have proven that 'brain farts' as McElrea has often put it, can cost dearly. "The boys need to minimize the mistakes. The smallest mistakes are what are costing them." McElrea commented.
