I'm Back But I'm Not Sure If M Is...

I'm back, bitches...i know you missed me.

During this time away, I was reflecting, making hit songs, scoring a movie, traveling and most recently, in the hospital, getting a drip cause I fell sick and the doctor seems to think it was cause I STOPPED working..pause.. STOPPED working.

I'm back. Life is awesome. I mean it. I'm back for the third time this year and this time it feels right.

But...is M back?

I'm an MTV lover. I mean. I grew up on MTV and I want, need and love my MTV. So for anyone who wishes to say I am hating on MTV. This is a disclaimer you won't be able to deny.

There was a  tagline for this year's MTV Asia Award's is M is Back. But let's be serious here for a minute, is MTV in Asia really back or is it just getting lost in it's own content or the lack of it or the lack of good content. Then again, what is a good content.

And with the almost annual change in faculty in the halls of their esteemed institution, this is a brand that has struggled to continue staying relevant rather than ahead, as this brand was founded on.

I can understand that Asia is very segregated and like in the music business, the taste and preferences and even...limitations are different two hours up north at the border. It's the world's most colorful continent.

I'm sure we all know how it works. MTV is broken down into two simple parts: One is the part you see on your screen and the other is the one that pays for it through these lovely beings called - sponsors.

But that's the problem...How does anyone sell anything to anyone if there is nothing to sell? I miss the MTV that led the music culture. The MTV that was friends with everyone and was a thriving brand cause it knew how to connect brands and consumers on a platform where it was always so....natural or cool....

Every year lately, MTV goes through spring cleaning or something and they clear employees (often ones that need to go and just as many WHO NEED TO STAY CAUSE ONLY THEM CAN SAVE THAT COMPANY)..either way, they haven't seemed to really solve that problem yet.

IF YOU REALLY WANT YOUR MTV, go get a job at MTV and start bring M back.

Again, not hating, but I am sure you agree, somehow you always end up on [v] right?

BRING YOUR M BACK. DEMAND FOR IT. GO WORK IN THAT BITCH.

EVEN IF IT MEANS BE A COOL MAIL ROOM CLERK!!!!!

I loved MTV when it was about music videos. Not reality shows. Not product placements. Not summer frat party coverage. Not Jack Ass. Not the same 8 songs looped over an entire month. Music on the Tele... Vision.

People are watching online 'cause the programming choices at MTV are currently made by marketing people. Not music people. Lowest common denominator dross. If all the good / freaky / obscure stuff floating around on the web was aired 24/7 on MTV without any of the existing bull-crap, I'd leave it the TV running constantly.
