We’ve always known that to shoot HTO we would need funding. A LOT of funding. We had planned to shoot a pilot and try to sell around the world on the strength of that. However, now everything has changed. prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
Before Christmas we had a meeting with the people at a Spanish national TV channel. They showed great interest in the project but didn’t want to see a 42 minute pilot episode. They didn’t want a whole chapter just a 15 minute “demo” (And the fact is that 42 minutes is the prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /US standard episode length and in Spain they have to be a huge 72 minutes for a 90 minute slot with adverts).
For us… Perfect! It’s a lot cheaper and we don’t have to have too much of a storyline – it’s not an episode, just an opportunity to introduce the world and its characters.
So we’ve scrapped the pilot for now and are going to shoot the demo mid February to mid March ready to edit, add CGI and present in May.
I’m happy - the demo is much more action-packed; I get to kick a lot more arse!
Magnum Opus. Finally!
