Today I got a copy of the new respect mag and was glad to see that they still continue to support the local band scene and really care for HK music. I think they are probably one of the last Chinese publications that only focuses on music and is free. This issue even features the Poly-U band show we did last month, Khalil Fong ( 方大同), Clot, and my boys 24 Herbs! I'm just glad these guys putting so much effort into supporting the scene because we all need to work together. Like NOFX once said "we're doing this for the cause!"
Re:spect showing some love! This issue also comes with a free cd of my new tune "天下不亂" and a video diary that Scott did.
Most of my time this week has been spent getting ready for the "Can't Help It" musical. I'm just doing 2 Grease songs but its kicking my butt! Mad respect to stage performers cause this stuff aint' easy.
Finally got to see Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited" last week. It was good but "'The Life Aquatic," and "Royal Tenenbaums" are still my favorite movies ever!
Apparently we weren't going to the movies alone......ha.
Been jammin' on the Mandoguitar lately. This is what you get when you cross a mandolin and a twelve string guitar together.
Vox made these back in the 1960's and the Rolling Stones and George Harrison used them in recordings. Phantom guitar works puts them out now and lately I've noticed Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Tokyo Jihen uses their regular sized guitars.
This baby is the best travel guitar ever!
