Last week we went to the C.A.S.H. annual dinner/awards and it fun watching some great singers, songwriters, lyricists, and arrangers get credit for all their hard work this year. I always get stoked on how much everyone accomplishes and it makes me want to push myself to write the best songs possible. That would be cool if one day I get nominated for writing something great. Good job everyone!
This year's theme was "Dai Pai Dong" and they had some really good local style BBQ pork, Goose, and other treats. I had to hold back cause I had to perform later.....d'oh!
Everyone making their way in and catching up with other industry friends.
Eric Kwok got nominated and won an award for a song he wrote for Kay Tse. Congrats man!
Khalil, Chet, and Eason go head to head!
This was a special evening for us because we got the Bath Spa project back together to do a medley of the songs we wrote in London. It's always a pleasure jamming with Janet, Rachel, and King Pan.
Soler was there to accept 2 awards and play one of their new singles. They have a concert coming up on the 23rd & 24th of this month that should be a lot of fun.
Eason won a couple of awards that night and killed it as usual. Truly an amazing singer with such a big heart for his music. Respect!
This year Peter Lai was the guest of honor and Louis Cheung was one of the special guests performing some of his most popular tunes.
Tai Chi's Joey Tang and Pat also performed songs that my dad and Peter wrote together. It was cool hearing them stripped down with just a guitar and vocals.
A few days earlier I played four songs at a Foshan event that was pretty cool. It's interesting how they mix and match so many different performers (music, dance, army performers, etc.) into one program but it made for a pretty entertaining show that's for sure.
And no we didn't bring the laser light show....
Jaycee Chan was there too! I haven't seen him for a while so it was nice catching up. He's working on a new mandarin album for next year so look out for it!
On a side note, super big thank yous to Rozy and Race for the fresh cake from Singapore last week. It was really thoughtful and the cake was gone in no time!
