note, i had to reupload this entry because i deleted it by accident trying to change the size of the video player (damn thing switches back everytime if i'm subscribing). to view everything in a nice BIG screen all the time, go to www.cutebutdeadly.neta friend posted this on facebook today. it’s the music video for RJD2’s song Work It Out featuring Bill Shannon, a NY based artist who learned to dance and “skate” on crutches because he was born with a degenerative hip condition. I have a good friend who also has something like this, and the pain is supposed to be just awful. although there are surgical options ( video on Bill’s blog), the results are usually only temporary.
on his site he jokes about not trying this [surgery] at home and finishes with “…and dont try this when you can bear the pain and or limitation of what you were born with.” beautiful.
lately i’ve been living with these grounding words: pain is inevitable. suffering is optional. looks like Bill is on the same page. talk about inspiring. sheesh.
let’s get up and dance, people!!!
reminds me of this dance sequence that Gene Kelly did in 1955 for a film called It’s Always Fair Weather. pretty sick too.
