A day to remember him...

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9BXc54jh6k

Since he was gone in 2003, I felt like part of me had died too.

I don't think I have fully recovered yet, and I probably never will...

Just wish he's still here...

I'm right there with you in missing Leslie. I have spent the last month watching some of his films for the first time, some for the fifth time, in preparation for writing my tribute to Leslie for my blog. I could never get over what amazing screen charisma he possessed, coupled with so much talent and beauty. Now I am watching his concert videos again, and once again I cannot believe that he chose to leave us like he did. Depression is such a terrible disease and it steals so many good people from us. I have been listening to his music and now hear him singing in my sleep. Once you fall under Leslie's spell, a part of you belongs to him forever. Our Leslie, beautiful like a flower. I love you today, and always-- a part of my heart beats for you alone, tonight and forever.

Thanks to everyone for all of your replies. To Jaine, If you want to know more about Leslie, please go to check out the latest blogs of "loveleslie". There are many photos and very good coverage of the cinematic work of this wonderful performing artist, Leslie Cheung. On April 1st, I went to a 5th year memorial concert for Leslie called "Miss You Much Leslie 繼續寵愛音樂會" at the Hong Kong Coliseum with my hubby. I am lucky to have a husband who is also a die-hard Leslie fan like me. We were both gladly amazed that the venue was fully packed. There were many fans from China too who were wearing special T shirts to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the sad occasion of of Leslie's death. We had enjoyed hearing some of Leslie's close friends talked about trivial matters of Leslie in his life behind the camera or off the stage. However, we really find it a TORTURE to hear the other singers "BASTARDIZE" Leslie's songs.... because NO ONE CAN SING HIS SONGS LIKE HIM...

So glad you got to attend the concert. As you say, no one can sing Leslie's songs like Leslie. I was watching Anthony Wong Yiu Ming's 2003 concert DVD the other night and he sang one of the songs he wrote for the CrossOver album and Leslie's version of Wong's composition Happy Together. Hearing him sing them without Leslie, I was crying watching the video. I could see that Anthony was chocked up while he was singing them, and he isn't the sort of singer who readily gets so emotional when he sings. Well, even if it was hard to listen to other artists sing Leslie's songs, all the profits of the concert are being donated to Leslie's charity and I am sure to be in the packed Hong Kong Coliseum with so many other Leslie fans must have been an amazing experience, something you never thought you would experience again after his death. Sad and happy all mixed up together, what a day yesterday must have been in Hong Kong for fans of Leslie.
