Travel Dilemma

So much has happened in the last few days….my trip to LA was short but sweet.  I got to spend some quality time with my high school friends.  It’s so strange everytime I go back to LA and see my old friends.  Some of them are already married and one of them has a baby!  It’s incredible!  I’ve known so many of them since kindergarden or Jr. High!  When I see that they are all getting married and starting families…it makes me realize how much time has gone by.  I’m not the only one from high school that is single.  It just makes me excited to know that I still have that part of my life ahead of me.  AND…when I do have kids…they will be much younger…which will make me look even younger..hahaha….it does make me a little anxious to find out who I’m going to end up with….I have started to look at families and start to really want that in my life.  I know that it will happen…and I shouldn’t be to anxious….and I should concentrate on myself while I still have the chance.   So, my grandmother turned 90 over the weekend.  She looks so tiny!  It was good to see her and be able to celebrate with her and her friends.  She is such a cute little old lady.  I was very happy that I got to share that moment with her.  I left for LA the following morning at about 5am.  My poor sister, Eugenia, had to take me all the way to LAX at that time!  But, I know that she is the only one who’d be able to wake up that early in the morning.  My flight was going to be a long and tedious one.  I had to fly into SF because my ticket back to Shanghai was going to take off from there.  So….when I flew into SF I had to claim my bags…walk to the international terminal…and check in, AGAIN!  From SF my flight was going to stop by Narita airport in Japan.  Unfortunately, as I was ready to board the plane, the Northwest attendants found out that my china visa was expired!!!  I had to miss the fight!  Luckily, I have a very dear friend, Motoko who lives in Japan.  I spent the night at her place and went to the Chinese embassy in the morning.  My visa wasn’t going to be ready until the following morning…so, I basically had a 2 free days in Japan.  It was ok since I got to hang out with Motoko…it’s too bad she had to work during the day though.  Well…here I am now at the airport waiting to board the plane again.  This has been such a long experience for me..and I feel completely exhausted.  I didn’t get to make my trip to Beijing because I wasn’t able to get back to Shanghai in time.  Oh well….I guess there is a reason for everything..right?  Ok….this was a lesson to me…to be more aware of my passport….and to be able to do all that visa stuff on my own!  I hate always being so careless…..
