I just spent the last week and a half traveling with my sister, Jen, and my adorable dog, Seth. We started our journey 2 Fridays ago from Alameda, CA up to Kirkwood to snowboard and then back down past Alameda to LA to spend time with my family...then taking a day trip to San Diego and arriving back in LA to start our adventure up the Pacific Coast Highway. San Diego was more or less a teaser to get in the mood of our long road trip. What was our objective??? To shoot a scenic music video for the song "Tell Me"..which I wrote and recorded with Ted Lo a few months ago. It's the same song that I have posted up on my site with AnD. We started off our drive last week on Wed morning and ended up staying at Santa Barbara for our first stop. It was such a nice beach that Jen and I decided to go rollerblading...I hadn't gone in YEARS!!!
Then on Thursday we stopped off at Solvang and ate at a cute pet friendly place called "Fresco" and at night we ended up at Pismo Beach where Jen and I had dinner at a place called "Cracked Crab". I'm not really a crab fan...but, Jen LOVES crab and I loved the fact that they just put all the food on the table without any plates!
The tools we used to attack!!!
YUM!!!
Viewing the elephant seals on the way up
After Pismo we decided to make a stop in Carmel to eat and then headed back to Alameda to have one night back at Jen's place. The next morning we decided to go to my favorite place in SF on Saturdays....the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building!!! We had some really good Korean fusion food..
Then we started our journey up the coast to try to reach Oregon. We made our next stop at Fort Bragg where we stayed at the Beachcomber Hotel which we really enjoyed. And then the next night we stayed in Crescent City..which wasn't really impressive. By Monday we were heading into Oregon and made our first stop at Bandon. Both of us really enjoyed this little town. We had lunch at a cute little place called "Tony's Crab Shack" where I had THE BEST fish tacos I have ever experienced!!!
Here's the cute little joint..
These were amazing!!
We stayed at our favorite hotel of the entire trip, "Le Kris" Hotel. It was the most homey and cozy hotel that we got to stay in during our trip up. We had a VERY good Mexican food experience at the "La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant". And, in the morning we enjoyed a nice breakfast at the "Minute Cafe". We were also able to get some really good sea foam dark chocolate and peanut butter cups. It was WONDERFUL!!!! I would definitely go there again. And I realize that the people in Oregon are so friendly!!
Our next stop in Oregon was in Newport which was also a cute place...we stayed at a nice hotel called "The Whaler"...I got some really nice smelly candles in the downtown shops..because I find that it's very expensive to buy good candles in HK. Then, in Astoria we stayed at our cheapest hotel and I bought some nice dresses at a local shop which are perfect for my future gigs..and lastly, we stopped in Portland, where we stayed with Jen's friends. Overall, it was a very successful trip and we got a lot of beautiful footage.
This was at an accidental stop that we made. The tree was enormous!
All of us, including Seth....felt ready to go back to the Bay area and stop driving....so, we sucked it up and drove the entire day for over 10 hrs!!!
