The day before I left for HK an old friend just arrived in SH. David Shannon, an amazing musical theater performer in the West End. He was the lead in Miss Saigon, Sweeney Todd, The Phantom of the Opera etc etc...He will be playing Jean Valjean in Les Miserables from next month, so if you live in London, go and watch him! He's really gooood!

What we always do is take friends who come to Shanghai for the first time to this DongBei restaurant. If you've read my earlier post about the special drink, then you know what's coming:
