First of all I want to wish anyone who is reading this an amazing Year of the Tiger ahead! One of my resolutions is to work out more...I can't remember when I used my gym membership the last time, haha!
The past few weeks I've been traveling back and forth between SH and HK a lot.
I also finally got to go to Macau and catch up with some friends who live there.
This is what I've been up to recently:
One of the episodes we shot for Shanghai A-Z was about Peking Opera:
It looked a little bit like hair sashimi! They stick the pieces onto your face!
For an optimal result you can't have too much facial hair. Steven didn't want to shave off his beard so the make up artist chose a character for him that can wear a fake beard to cover his real beard.
I don't think emperors had mobile phones back in the old days?
It took two men to help me put on my costume which consisted of many layers. The headpiece was very tight and heavy and so was the thing attached on my back. I've got so much respect for Jingju performers now!
Steven and I represented characters from the Tang and Song dynasty.
The Peninsula in Shanghai had their big opening the other day and I was invited to be the opening act. We put up an old Shanghai Divas act. It went down pretty well!
One of my friends works at the Venetian and he gave me and my friends a tour of the whole place. It was bigger than I thought it and of course I tried my luck in gambling! ;) I broke even in the end!
Tomorrow I'll be off to HK again for the film awards.
See you all very soon!
