Studio recording

It's cold and rainy here in London.  I went into a studio to record a few songs for an EP with my uke mates this past weekend.  It was a great experience, but absolutely terrifying.  I'm used to being on the outside with the sound engineers when working on films, so being inside the booth was a completely different experience, I was horrified to say the least.  So hats off to y'all musicians!

Oh yes, in case anyone wonders, I'm in an ukulele band... my ultimate geekiness!

Polaroids

I always love and am constantly facinated by the idea of Polaroids.  You stop time with a quick snap (I love the sound that a Polaroid camera makes,) but for the next few minutes, the past, present and future all blend into one, as you eagerly wait in the present time, for the past to slowly develop in front of your eyes, and you anticipate what the polaroid picture will end up looking like.

Rossellini

Went to see Rossellini's "Germany Year Zero" at the NFT this past weekend.  They're doing a retrospective on him, showing almost all his work on film print (!!)  I'm so excited, since I've only, sadly, seen two of his films on DVDs.  Saw "Rome Open City" during my early film school days, and it completely opened my eyes to a different kind of filmmaking.  I have utmost respect for this Italian maestro who invented "neo-realism" back in the 40s, taking advantage of the existing ruins on the street, and ...Read more

My very first blog.

Welcome to my very first blog, ever.  I still don't know how this whole thing works, but hopefully I'll get a hang of it soon.  I'm deep in the midst of editing the second MV for Audio Traffic, once I'm done, I'll write more and share with you some fresh and interesting things, including my experience of working on 6 MVs in one week!
