10 things I learned from shooting 6 MVs in a week...

Almost done editing the Audio Traffic MV, but am having technical problem with my computer, so I should just take a break and write a little.

Someone once posted this question to a few of us after a collaboration on a project.  It's become sort of a tradition for me - to think about 10 things I've learned after working on a project...  they're not in any particular order.

  1. Ingmar Bergman was right.  I'd rather work with ten of my friends than a hundred of my enemies.

  2. AD rox!

  3. Shooting on a tram (with a long lens) is a lot harder than I thought.

  4. Location scouting is a must.

  5. I have a fetish for the tunnel lights in HK.

  6. Cold pizza tastes amazingly good when you haven't eaten all day.

  7. Things that I can come up with and tend to forget on set, especially with a hangover.

  8. Wear a hat.  Cause I twirl my hair way too much when I think.

  9. What a "Eight Point Garbage Matte" does in FCP.

  10. Pre-production, pre-production and pre-production.

and a bonus:

  1. How much I adore and admire the alivenotdead family...

I wonder what are the 10 things for the other guys...

inspired by your list, heres 10 things i learned from working on a film project 1. At some point Avid will completely bugger up. 2. Camera batteries will always fail when you only have one shot left to film. 3. Avid will keep buggering up. 4. When editing is going well, you'll realise the projects set at NTSC when the footage was shot PAL 5. You prefer using Adobe premiere than Avid 6. Upon realizing point 5. Adobe premiere will bugger up 7. Try do as much in 'Pre' not post 8. When filming a 5 minute short, don't think to yourself "its only 5 mins, i only need 1 60 min DV tape" 9. iFinish media 100 is better to use than Adobe premiere 10. Media 100 will keep buggering up, so you just end up editing it all in Adobe after effects

Mathew_Blaize, so glad to know that i'm not the only one, i've come to the conclusion that FCP hates me, Avid loathes me, and Premiere can't stand me...
