Tapes....Where are they?

With the current recording technologies we have at the tip of our Laptops.Sometimes, One may wonder where does all the "REAL" old Tapes go?

Thats right,The Great Albums,Records,Soundracks to our lives that we listen to.....

Music that is in our cars, Mp3 players, "WALKMAN"..hahah Its been a while since I said that word...IPOD'S Etc....

These were the Digital Tapes they used right before music went all in the Hard Disks

....Hard Disc recording , as we call it now !

People now use DVD's to back up my projects...

But these tapes bring a lot of memories to me and where I found them..

As I was finishing up a session next door, The Infamous AVON studio's in Jordan,second floor. I wandered into studio B , where my friend was finishing up a canto mix. I was in the vocal booth and I saw these amazing master tapes, Piles and Piles of them just stacked up....

It just made me realize how painful i was back n the days to MIX....

Now everything is in the computer all backed-up and can have total recall.....Before, everything was on tapes...These are , i think, The  Last generation of so-called tapes...Before the hardisk recording came along.

I am not writing this blog to explain to you all how much I may think I know...It just brings a lot of memories to me....Tapes...When was the last time U held music on a tape?? nowadays its, all in my "Finger", my hardisk, My POD, My itunes....and very rarely ...Oh...I got a CD...BUt witihn % seconds , ur best friend will say...Can I rip it??? haha
