I was recently asked by one of my old teachers back in Secondary School to design the cover to this years yearbook. Why not? It's the least I can do for the people who gave me a first class education! I graduated 2003.
It's called the Explorer.
The reason this yearbook is particularly significant because it's the last year before the existing principal retires. Mr. Cottam has been with Sha Tin College for over 15 years (20?) and will be retiring.
I've tried to design it in a way that lights the school as though it is the 'end of the day'. Early evening when people stay late afterschool, leaving, the gates close, and you look back and realize that it's the end of an era. Or something like that, anyways. I'm nostalgic for simpler days.
Fun Fact! There are a number of other Alive Not Dead artists who have attended this school. Here's a few of them:
Justin Lim I've known since I was 7 and he also attended Sha Tin. All the girls loved him cause he sings and moves like Elvis!
Adrian Da Silva, Audiotraffic's singer, went to this school about 20 something years ago. Before he got kicked out. Haha nah I'm kidding. He used to have Kurt Cobain hair. Laugh at him! My brother was his first drummer in 'Cry' before they renamed as Audiotraffic
Shann Larsson, her big sis was in my year. Shann is an awesome artist!!
Preston Lau, a friend of my big bro. From what I remember he was a musical genius. He was the drummer in my bro's band. But he also pretty much plays everything.
James Reeve, runs Adapta Gallery, he was also my big bro's good friend. James sang in Preston and my bro's band!
Can't think of any others....
