HONG KONG HELLO, HERE I COME AND HELP!

HONG KONG HELLO, HERE I COME AND HELP!

I am so excited to visit Hong Kong, a city I have always wanted to experience and also to coach, which is my favorite thing to do in this world, in our  2-day Acting Workshops.

I have been in contact with so many wonderful people since I have been on AnD.  I hope I get to meet every one of you.

Jason Tobin, who by the way is a fabulous producer and director as well as a brilliant actor, and I are planning to have a get together during the week between the workshops I am teaching in October.   If you would like to hear about where we are going to gather, let Jason or myself know.

Now Can You Help Me?

I would love some suggestions from you all.  I have been looking at hotels in Hong Kong which look nice but I would love to hear about a special place to stay.  If I had a choice, at a reasonable price of course, I love to stay at smaller places, like pensiones in Italy, bed and breakfasts in Northern California or a small hotel that reflects its neighborhood.  I would love to stay at a special place that is unique to Hong Kong.  Also tell me about hotels you or your friends have found that you think are maybe not as well known but very good and reasonable as well. Thanks for your help.

I am looking forward to sharing the joy and exhilaration that we as actors experience when we find another path to discovering an exciting believable charater.  If you haven't checked out our events page for the two weekend workshops take a look and contact Jason Tobin.   Yes it is work but it is also a lot of fun and it makes you feel so alive and reminds you of your passion and joy for the path you have chosen.

I truly love when I see that light of recognition in an artist's eyes  -when we have found a solution to an obstacle, -when we both jump for joy after you just "hit the ball out of the park".  It's the best!   So come play with us.  Check out the events page and class descrīption.  Jeanne Hartman's Acting Weekend for Professionals and Jeanne Hartman's Acting Weekend - Open Class. Any questions contact Jason Tobin at   actingweekend@alivenotdead.com

See you soon!

Hi, Jeanne. Regarding accommodations, I’ve stayed at a number of different places over the years and have enjoyed them all in different respects. So, I have no doubt that, regardless of where you stay, you’re sure to love it. After all, it is your first trip to Hong Kong and it should be quite an adventure for you. During my first trip to HK, I stayed at the Sheraton in Tsim Sha Tsui. It was very convenient, located down on the waterfront, and wasn’t prohibitively expensive. During a subsequent trip, I stayed at the Emperor Hotel in Happy Valley. This was a little less convenient because the MTR was further away and I had to rely more on cabs. In any case, that hotel was reasonably priced as well or, at least, it was back in ’05 when I was there. In the years since, I’ve found that, although there are many fine luxury hotels to choose from on both the HK and Kowloon sides, I much prefer to stay someplace where I FEEL like I’m in HK all the time. So, if you’re looking for some culture, I would strongly suggest narrowing your search to the Kowloon side – specifically something on or close to Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui or Mong Kok (or any of the neighborhoods in between). This way, you’ll be close to the MTR, you’ll probably find a good rate, you’ll be close to Jto, and, every time you walk out of your door, you’ll feel like you’re in HK. I’m sorry that I can’t recommend anymore hotel names, but this might help you narrow the field a little bit. Anyway, best of luck and have a great trip. -Dax
