I am feeling very reflective today - thus explaining the, not one, but TWO blog entries today.
So, today, we were filming Fun Taiwan - Keelung. we went night fishing for squid, which was really fun. We caught about 7 squid and a few fish which we ate on the boat. I had to eat one of the squid LIVE, which was a new experience for me. something that's going to give me nightmares for a few days I think - and I'm not usually scared by many things.. but putting a still-squirming squid into my mouth and then eating it live was something else. i don't think it's something i'd like to repeat any time soon.
Anyway, i digress.
So, as i was taking a shower, washing off all of the fish guts and sea water and other fun stinky stuf out of my hair, I started to reflect on how bizarre my life is. And of course, how so so so awesome that can be!
Just yesterday, I was performing violin for President Ma at a press conference with over 400 people and dozens of media regarding energy saving and helping Taiwan to be more environmentally aware.
A few days before that, I was hanging on a rope as I rock climbed around Long Dong. and just before that, i was shooting the cover for the FHM magazine.
I'm so lucky that I get to do all of these things and as i sit here in my living room, with the whole world slightly spinning, I just want to smile and share this moment with y'all. Although, i think the spinning has more to do with being sea-sick (land-sick) than actually spinning from life itself.
I do wish i had more time in the day to share everything with y'all and of course, show y'all pictures.
i'll get on that soon!
love,
janet
