I wanted to share this beautiful and sensual short film that I worked on. It’s directed by Ifu Tim Chen, and make sure you watch it all the way to the end! What I especially love about the feel of the movie, is that it stylistically feels like a Wong Kar Wai film, with so much longing and moments that linger on the emotions of the main character who falls in love with a woman he meets in an elevator.

I just found out that Eric Won's film, "Good and Evil," is one of 5 finalists in the Beyond the Still Contest sponsored by Vimeo and Canon. I'm so happy for him, but not too surprised as he is an enormously talented filmmaker.
Beyond the Still is the first ever user generated HD video contest where each chapter ends with a still image and the next person continues the story with their own vision.
Eric's entry is called "Chapter 3: Good and Evil" and it was chosen as one of the top ...Read more
This week I scored a short film for, Beyond the Still, a unique online filmmaking competition sponsored by Canon and Vimeo. Beyond the Still is the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where each chapter (there will be seven when the contest concludes), ends with a still photograph for the Vimeo community to then interpret for the following chapter.
It's a very dramatic and tense 4 minute film. Watch it here. If you like it, please help us out by clicking "like" in the upper right corner of the video.

Michael Giacchino won the Oscar for best original score this Sunday for his score to UP. I’m really happy for him. UP was my favorite film and my favorite film score for 2009. Part of the reason the score is so musical, is because it is an animated tale of adventure, which gave Giacchino a broad canvas for bold adventurous orchestrations, warm emotional melodies, and fun whimsical textures. It’s the kind of film an orchestral composer like myself dreams of working on. And one of my wildest dreams w...Read more

I spent the December holidays in sunny tropical Malaysia, and visited some fascinating places. It's a wonderful place filled with such beauty, and so easy to get around for a tourist. The public transportation is fantastic, and of course it's helpful that everyone spoke English there. Malaysia is such a multi-ethnic country, that English is used as a common language between people. And it was inspiring to see so many different people getting along so well. One Muslim told me that everyone celebrates Xmas and everybody else's...Read more
