When I was young, my father and some of his friends co-owned a ranch.

Other than providing a stable for horse owners, they even have trainers for jockeys and the horses…

One scene that left the deepest impression in me was when a newly bought naughty little foal mysteriously escaped from the stable…

As our villa is located in the mountains, it’s difficult to even maneuver a jeep, moreover the foal had managed to cross to the opposite end of the stream…so my dad and another uncle who’s a skilful rider, had to ride on a horse each…crossed the stream and lassoed the foal back together…

I was still a little kid then and I joined the uncles in the jeep for some fun, and I really felt that my dad riding on the horseback is really good looking…

With my unrelenting pleas, my dad had to defy objections from my mum and granny and allowed me attend horse-riding lessons secretly…

Every week, I would be in the sand pitch with my trainer, circling 20 rounds left, 20 rounds right, trotting, cantering…

But all training was forgotten when I went overseas to study…and discovered basketball and rugby…

Many years later, due to work …I’m on the horseback once again…

This time, I should not be giving up half way…(after all, the reason I gave on the application form is that I hope to be a professional jockey: ) |

小時候父親與幾個好朋友合資了一個馬場.

除了提供馬廄給馬主之外,也有練馬師負責訓練人和馬...

我印象中最深刻的一幕就是有一回有一匹新買進來的頑皮小馬,不知怎麼的打開了門逃出馬房...

由於別墅在山區,連吉普車也不是那麼好行駛,在加上小馬已經跑到小溪的對岸...於是父親與另一位騎術精湛的叔淑就一人一騎...涉溪過到對岸在合力把小馬用將繩套了回來...

當時年有的我也跟著叔叔伯伯們在吉普車上湊熱鬧,當時只覺得會騎在馬背上的父親實在是太帥了..

在我的苦苦哀求下,父親只好不顧媽媽與奶奶的反對,偷偷讓我開始上馬術的課...

每個周末我都會跟著教練在沙圈裡,左二十圈右二十圈,打浪壓浪,小跑快跑...

但是一切的訓練都在出國念書發現籃球與橄欖球後...被拋在腦後了...

多年後,因為工作的關係...我又回到馬背上...

這次,應該不會在半途而廢了...(畢竟我學員申請表上寫我騎馬的原因是希望成為比賽的選手:) |
