I had the most unusual afternoon during my last visit to NYC. One afternoon, I was walking from 20th street uptown to attend a play reading, then suddenly, at the corner of 8th ave and 28th street, I saw a man carrying an umbrella in one hand, while his other hand was palm up. He was trying to protect a firefly from some light drizzle. At first I thought that this man must be a bit cuckoo. It wasn't until I looked closely that I actually saw this firefly, hovering 3 inches above his palm. The sky was getting gray and dark, and th...Read more

These days, when I travel, I am so focused on packing, getting to the airport early, get an aisle seat, calling my friend before the plane takes off to make sure someone is getting me at the airport, then calling again when the plane is on the runway to make sure my friend is waiting for me at the baggage claim. While flying, I'll either burrow myself in a magazine or a book that I bring along. I hardly look around to see who is sitting next to me. I'm so self absorbed in my tasks.
Today the lady who sat next to me asked if I cou...Read more
Regret
I have a revelation today. I realized that "regret" is such a wasteful, useless feeling - a total self indulgent energy. So you want to do something...but you did not take action so you miss the "opportunity" . Big deal. What's the point of beating yourself up years after the fact? Life goes on! Stop being a prisoner of that lost moment because you fail to take action. Move on...
For some reason, beyond my comprehension, the popular songs that I grew up with and the popular sentiment around that time ...Read more
I was so happy to receive all the input about my blog on "EMAIL".
That trigger me to write about something else...the "sense of touch". I remember when I was growing up, most of my toys were something that I could hold, or touch: like a doll, or some plastic kitchen utensils or a doctor's set...things that I need to use my hand to pick up and hold., things that I can touch. Now adays, popular toys for children are mostly video games on a play station. To me, that's like living life through some secondary expe...Read more
I cannot get over how our lives have changed by email. Everyday, I get on my computer and can get in touch with all of my friends from all over the world, within seconds. it does not matter whether we have major time difference, I just get on my computer and type up a short hello. When I get up the next day, I will sure get a response from my friends. It's hard to remember those days when we have no cell phone, black berry, fax or answering machine, computers...Somehow, people still are able to get in touch... by letters! I don't remember the l...Read more
Yesterday was the first ever joint effort between WGA, DGA and AFTRA creating a scene reading night (partially staged) and spotlight on AP talents from all 3 unions. The room was packed, each scene flow from one to the next effortlessly. The audience was hanging onto every moment of each scene.
I had fun both being in the audience, watching, and being infront of the audience, taking part as an actress. Met a lot of female writer/directors as well.
It was a wonderful first. May there be many more to come. Read more
Good Life When I was in my late teens, if you were to ask me what is a “good life”, I would probably say, “to have a big house, a big car, and lots of money so I can buy lots of expensive things…”
Now if you ask me what I think is a “good life”, a Chinese proverb resonates in my head: “If you are in the company of good friends, toasting a thousand times is still not enough…”

On my last trip to HK, I was thrilled to meet up with the creators of "Alive Not Dead": Patrick and Terence through my dear friend, Eugenia Yuan.
I was inspired by their concept of creating this site as a virtual home for all the amazing and wonderful artists out there so we can expand our network and share knowledge and skills. When I found out that these creative guys are alumnae of Berkeley and friends with other Berkeley grads that I recently worked with on an indie film in Los Angeles, "Ping Pong Playa&q...Read more
