Some days, I love what I do. OK, that's a lie. I love my job period. But the other day, when I was shooting the VIP Access episode for the upcoming animation RIO, I thought to myself...how can "work" get any better than this?!!We were shooting at Ocean Park and I got to be outside on a beautiful day while most of the people I know are stuck in a boring old office pushing paper stacks around. Reminded me that I am privileged to be able to do what I do. Thank you for inviting me into your homesAt the "new" entrance to Ocean Park. The last time I went was Hallowe'en and the main entrance has shifted about 100 meters to the right of the old entrance.Once inside, the first thing you see is the brand new aquarium and the peripheral buildings constructed to support the new aquarium.Me hanging out with a new friend before shooting began. Like how his outfit and my shoes match? This was my office for the day. How awesome, eh?A real rope suspension bridge...kinda like a scene from Jurassic Park...We had a blue macaw who would fly into frame. He was really well-trained cause he could do it on cue every time. For the most part, things went smoothly.Mr. Macaw had to be fed every 30 seconds cause birds in captivity have really short attention spans. Apparently, if you don't keep their attention, they can potentially fly away. GREAT! Talking about added pressure while shooting?!!!Mr. Macaw getting his fix.I must have been doing something wrong b/c after awhile (as you can see), birdie was just watching my other hand in hopes of getting more food. Toward the end, he got really cranky and started biting my fingers with his beak. I'm sure he could have snapped my fingers off (thank you for not doing so) but at least he didn't peck my eye out.Me, the crew + Michelle (far left) from Ocean Park. Please be sure to watch VIP Access: Rio on Sunday, April 10, 2011 on STAR Movies.Until then...Dez
