Notes from a Gwailo:-
In the hours leading up to HK Live! I went a lttle crazy with my hair. It was a real honour to be playing at the HK Live! event so I thought that I would go all out and dye my hair red. LOL! I have been wearing a hat everyday to work ever since. The real test is if I can make it all the way to the Underground 57? Should I? Or shouldn't I?,,,
The time had come...
We weren't expecting a huge crowd at the start of the night because were the first band. We knew that alot of people would be coming to see the other two great bands performing that night, and would have never even heard of us. You know, people never want to go see the first band perform. But, we arrived on stage and were suprised to see The Fringe Club packed so early on in the night.
We needed to play almost all of our original songs to make up the 35minute set, minus two, 'Haunted' and 'Don't quit your day job'. The transition between songs went smoother than we first calculated and it was enough time for one more song. We all had fun on the stage performing and interacting with the crowd. It's great to see we have a little tribe of F.B.I. fans! We hoped you enjoyed the show, because we enjoyed playing it for you!
After our show, I went back and got a drink before I started to watch El destroyo play. They were fun to watch and I like there 'hillbilley' tunes. I could just imagine their songs on the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs, some of my favourite movies of all time.
Gong Wu had something that F.B.I. as a band would strives for. Stage presence. They really leave a huge impression on you. Great musicians. I thought they sounded abit different live to what they did on their tracks. It was more hardcore than I first thought, fine by us. Great music to rock out to!
We really enjoyed playing at The Fringe Club. It is a great venue for live music. We really want to play there again! Hint hint! Anyway, we are now looking towards the next Underground held at The Cavern. The Cavern is another great venue for live music. So come and support F.B.I. @ The Cavern for Underground 57 19/4 8pm.
The songs we played are:-
Ghouls 'n' Ghosts
Man Love!
Amore
Loneliness
Death to Emo
Gonna Make Love
The Masquerade
Don't quit your day job
