Reminiscing and being thankful here in the last week of the year...In the grand scheme of things, I'd have to say 2009 was a better year than 2010 for me. It's all relative and that's not to say 2010 was bad, but there were some curveballs in '10, things I'll chalk up to lessons learned. There were certainly some memorable events as well, such as - 408 Films watching and both go through very successful global festival runs, setting themselves up for nice post-fest plans, including the release of TPISW on the big screen, TV, and soon-to-be DVD come March 22, 2011!The birth, execution, and hopefully set up of an annual thing with Frexh - a showcase for emerging artists that was held in Shanghai this summer. Man, that might have been the hardest thing I've ever worked on in a concentrated period of time. Big props to my friend Ben who spent the summer in Asia with me helping me construct it (and numerous others as well):Prepping for Frexh 2010.My first set of TVC's in Asia - one for China Construction Bank in Hong Kong:My CCB Family.and one for Ferrero Rocher Chocolate China:My Ferrero friends.A flurry of a finish to the year back in NYC that included a fresh set of print gigs with clients such as Verizon and Microsoft:My Verizon colleague X 4.And then, a nice way to end the year was getting cast on an interesting project that will take me back to Shanghai to start 2011. Hopefully the year will only get better from there! I'm looking forward to spending January being Blue Hyena on the set of Universal Pictures' which has some interesting names attached to it including The RZA, Russell Crowe, Eli Roth, Christopher Doyle, Cung Le, and David Bautista for any of you fight fans out there.I again hovered between NY/Asia and continued to have the point driven home that Asia is the present and the future, but I just couldn't let go of NYC livin' either.Twenty eleven, what will you bring? Projects, thoughts, ideas are already in the works. I'm not in a hurry to see how it all unfolds because I love the journey, but damned if I ain't curious.Hope everyone had lots to be thankful about this past year. Happy Holidays all!
