A gathering of the good, the bad and the beautiful...
The Chinese Banker's Club provided an unlikely setting for a bodacious bash held to commemorate B&E's first 12 months of movies, mayhem and mischief...
We came back from the 'Snowblade' shoot for Filmart meetings, so it seemed a good time to gather the clan.
The guests included capo di tutti cap Harvey Weinstein...
We thought he wanted to check out the 2011 B&E line-up, but apparently the phrase 'All you can eat Chinese buffet' had caught his eye on the invitation...
I'm grateful to Harvey for taking the time to screen our Snowblade footage, and give some great directing advice to me and career advice to Sable (which was probably something along the lines of 'don't work with this guy...')
Just to prove there really is no thing as a free dinner, I made a speech, and apparently opened with a joke about why size sometimes does matter...
The crowd roared...
Well, more like muttered to itself...
We then screened our corporate video, with the trailers for Shadowguard, Gobie, Beach Spike and Hong Kong Movie Magic, as well as the teaser for Snowblade, and took the opportunity to present our sensuous new female furie, Sable Yu, to the gathering...
The wine flowed, the buffet groaned, and a good time was had by all...
For those unable to leave fast enough, I signed and singed a few copies of my Blood Bond novel (still available at a bookstore near you, or directly from Foreign Press...)
Many of the usual suspects were also to be found at the after party for the Asian Film Awards...
Onward, to another year's worth of action!
